Role-play, also known as pretend play or imaginative play, is more than just fun — it’s a powerful tool for learning and development in young children. At Khalifah Cerdik, all of our centre are implementing this activity and here is why:
- Builds Imagination and Creativity
- When children pretend to be a doctor, teacher, chef, or superhero, they use their imagination to create stories and situations. This kind of play helps them think creatively and solve problems in new ways. We can also see their critical thinking skills and observation with adult jobs and apply it into this kind of activity.
- Encourages Social Skills
- When children play with others, they learn to take turns, listen, and work as a team. Role-play helps them understand other people’s feelings and how to get along with friends.
- Teaches Real-Life Skills
- Pretending to go shopping, cook food, or take care of a baby teaches children how the world works. It prepares them for real-life situations in a safe and fun way.
Role-play is not just play — it’s how children learn about themselves, others, and the world. Whether they’re pretending to be a firefighter or a parent, they’re growing in ways that books and worksheets can’t always teach.
Our spaces and the resources and tools at our centre are all carefully designed to stimulate our children’s imagination and encourage freedom of creativity and expression. Our skilled and passionate teachers and staff are always available to guide little ones as they discover the world and develop cognitive, personal and physical skills.
